"Bread and circuses" (panem et circenses) is a phrase originated by Juvenal, a first century Roman satirist, who used it to describe a political strategy of appeasement measures placed upon the populace in order to maintain public approval. By generating distractions like the Roman games and adding to it generous access to material concessions, palatable pleasures and modern conveniences, the people were satiated and therefore, disinterested in the larger issues at hand. By keeping them fed and entertained, they discarded care for wider concerns regarding culture, politics, and well, humanity in general. Juvenal coined the phrase in satire to express his disgust with the selfishness and reckless disregard of the people who were willing to waylay their civic duty in exchange for a constant supply of creature comforts.
For decades, theologians and theorists have postulated that the mark of the beast mentioned in Revelation 13:16-17 would be an implant of a computer chip under the skin. This chip would utilize technology that identifies and tracks the movements of an individual, as well as serve as a money system in a supposed future cashless society. This tiny chip would work the same as your debit or credit card, track all your purchases and that data would be pumped into the big super-computer and just about every move you make is collected and then used to build your "profile."
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand, or on their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
~Revelation 13:16-17
This microchip would report back all of your online activity and behavior, it would be connected to your social network, and keep a growing and evolving log of your thoughts, opinions, spending habits, medical records and prescriptions, calendar of events, your choices of entertainment, television shows you view, family and friendships, religious and political affiliation… anything and everything will be logged, stored and processed through the big, powerful quantum super-computer....the world's central "brain," if you will. It will collect and extrapolate that information to create a custom virtual environment that is specifically designed to keep you locked in to the system.
You see where I'm going with this, right? We are way past needing a chip to accomplish all of these things.
People, for the most part, reject the idea of getting an implant as it is still regarded as intrusive. Most people just don't want something inserted under their skin. Big tech developers know this. So, how can the world system gather every person into the fold without actually placing a device under their skin? They're already doing it because we are letting them. It’s already happening on a grand scale through the use of Google products, social media and mobile devices.
According to Zephoria Inc.,a digital marketing consulting firm, there are over 2.20 billion monthly active Facebook users for first quarter of 2018. That is a 13 percent increase from the previous year. There are 1.15 billion mobile daily active users for December 2016 with an increase of 23 percent year-over-year. A staggering 88 percent of advertising revenue in 2017 came from mobile devices, up from 84 percent in the previous year (you can read more about these statistics here). Instagram which is mainly a mobile photo sharing network reached 700 million daily active users in April 2017, up from 150 million from January of that same year. Twitter boasts 310 million monthly active users with approximately 44 percent of these users active each day in the service’s top 20 markets.
These numbers are insane. You can't even fathom the calculated projections.
The kicker is, the teams of developers for these products utilize a rather sinister combination of technology combined with advanced, deep psychological techniques to create a virtual environment that keeps us locked in and engaged. In other words, they know what it takes to grab and hold your attention. In an “attention industry” that makes money off of the time you spend on their product, the strategy then becomes how to keep you engaged for as long as possible, every single day.
It's not just our attention that locks us into this beast. It's conveniences.
"Alexa... search the contents of my refrigerator and compile a shopping list of needed items then place an order with my grocery store. Schedule it for express pick-up at 6 p.m. today."
Anyone who allows one of these devices into their home needs a psychiatric evaluation. "Alexa" would love to examine the contents of your mind, and then pump it's contents into the AI supercomputer to figure out the next 50 million moves ahead to keep you locked into the system. All the while, these corporations are profiting in the trillions.
Back in 1995, Steve Jobs said that the best method of developing tech devices that will sell billions of dollars worth of product each year (and he said that over twenty years ago) was not to first build the technology and then figure out where to sell it. Rather, start with the customer experience and work backward to the technology. To Jobs, the secret to a successful line of electronic devices and software products was to start with what would make the customer the most likely to use it, and more, to never put it down. The goal was to create products that assimilated into our lives and became part of the human existence. Never mind that this is accomplished through the exploitation of the attention of the consumer. These standards for development and the extremely high profit margins have made Jobs' business model the staple design still being implemented in the industry today.
Bread and circuses.
What is the mark of the beast? It isn't a device. It is a contract. It is a binding connection with the individual and the beast system, no implantable device is necessary, designating ownership.
"Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb." ~Revelation 14:9-10
This mark, which clearly reads as being something "on" the hand or forehead ("epi" in the Greek means "upon" or "on") is something that will be visible, out in the open, in plain sight. Just like the mark of Cain or pagan marks in biblical times, everyone will see it and know for whom they are affiliated and ultimately who they openly serve. So, Revelation is not talking about something hidden under the skin or even a physical mark but the behavior of people which "marks" them as followers of Satan and his counterfeit "devotion." As long as they can keep you willingly engaged, set up systems where life becomes difficult without them and a dependence is established, you are bound.
But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

We all walked right into it willingly and with a clear conscience. What's being considered with these sophisticated instruments for the near future? To control how you see the world and shape it into the most profitable scenario as possible. From what I'm learning so far, God isn't part of the plan.

Technology has long surpassed the need for an implant. And, as scripture dictates so clearly...those who take the mark will do it willingly and with their eyes wide open. How could this be accomplished?
