The little-known second installment in William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist trilogy, The Ninth Configuration, is an interesting but confusing film. Trying to discern Blatty's message can take a bit of wrangling. An astronaut has an existential crisis in a remote psychiatric hospital for decorated military officers.
