What if this was your last opportunity to make the most important decision of your life?
Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3
Allow me to introduce an idea. Consider for one moment the possibility that at this very point in time, right here and right now, was your last chance in this life to accept Christ as Lord? What if this was that moment? The final hour… your very last opportunity?
Spend a minute with that. What if this day, this hour, this very minute was the last opportunity you will ever have to make the most important decision in your lifetime? How would you consider the idea? What thoughts would travel through your mind? What would happen if you reject the idea?
Let’s do a mental exercise. I want you to imagine a colossal doorway that stands so tall that the top is hidden in the clouds. A gateway, if you will. The massive doors, which must weigh many hundred tons a piece are closing. You can’t hear them as they make no sound as they slide toward each other. They move so slowly the only hint of their motion is the narrowing of the opening. The brilliant, white light behind them is increasingly shielded by their mass. You stand there watching, testing your eyes to see if they really are closing… and indeed they are. The space narrows more and before you know it, these gargantuan doors that are the size of a mountainside, meet and shut tight, forever.
You are told to enter and feel compelled to cross that enormous threshold, but, you hesitate because you aren’t completely sure. You are equally compelled to stay where you are, where it’s familiar, where you are still sure of yourself. You are torn. You want to surrender to that strong knowing deep inside your soul that you should cross over. But, you are afraid you will lose yourself, lose everything that represents your comfort, your “safety.” But the doors keep moving toward each other and you are almost out of time.
The world has changed. The beast world system is in position and the god of this world is rising to the fullness of his power. The world has descended to lawlessness. What is evil in the eyes of God is now considered good in the eyes of the world.
In the last days, perilous times will come. 2 Timothy 3:1
There is no doubt that we are living in perilous times. One only has to look at current world events to recognize the prophetic markers so perfectly detailed in scripture are quickly being fulfilled. If we are not at The Great Tribulation, there is an awfully good chance we are very near.
Are you ready?

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
This is not a time to be lukewarm, but, instead, to rekindle the fire for God. If you are not yet a believer, this is the time to carefully consider your stance in the matter. The door of opportunity will not wait for you to make up your mind. This may be the last chance you have to position yourself exactly where you need to be. Not just for eternity, but for what lies ahead during these last “hours” before Christ’s return.
“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding…
…and the door was shut.
“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
"Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming." ~Matthew 25:1-13
